Where's the justice.
So there was nothing on TV tonight (yes, I actually wasn't working for once) because of the Golden Globe awards. Good Lord! I hate them almost as much as I hate the SAG Awards and Oscars. So I was flipping through channels and stopped at Animal Planet. I usually don't make it to those channels as I usually skip up to Cartoon Network. Animal Plant was doing the Animal Rescue shows and they had a dog that was burned and another with an eye popped out of the socket. Poor little things. I couldn't watch and had to switch it. I came back throughout the night. Currently there's a severaly neglected and beaten horse. My God! How can anyone treat animals this way. Unfed, uncared for. I believe in cruel and unusal punishment and I believe it should be used on the people that do things like this.

There's a difference in my mind between animals and humans. Actually animals fall into the same category as children and babies because both are can't usually communicate when in pain and tell you where it hurts or what is wrong. I cannot stand to see animals in pain or in these conditions they show on TV. How can people starve these animals? What did these animals possibly do to deserve this treatment? How can anyone do this to a living creature and not feel that they are a monster!?!

One guy just said that "most of the cruelty isn't intentional. It's just a matter of education." Ok, I know I'm a smart person, but I'm not smarter then the general population and I can figure out how to take basic care of an animal. I can figure out how to give water and food and I can figure out when an animal is covered in scabs, blood, feces, and worms that something is WRONG and the animal needs a VET! When you care of an animal, just like when you care for a person, you have a responsibility to give the best care you possibly can even if that means you have to give the animal up. So I don't buy what this guy said.

I came upstairs after watching this stuff and had to hug my own puppy. We got her from the Humane Society and we're not sure how old she is, but we've had her for 2+ years. She's probably around 6 or 7 years old now. So I took her to the Vet today because she's been scratching to where she was drawing blood. See people! Blood equals Vet visit. Ok, so some people can afford that type of care. I'm fortunate to be able to do so. Still, food and water and some basic attention & care isn't that hard. If you have an animal make sure you can care for it. My puppy has ear problems, allergies, a sensitive stomach, and she snapped a tendon in her back leg this summer. We've taken care of all of these things including the very expensive operation to repair her leg. (She's now walking on all four again. Excellent recovery!) I'm no saint, I just love my puppy. She's a member of my family as much as my wife or daughter or myself. Even when we found out the cost of the operation, we never considered doing anything else. We saved the money and paid the bill and my puppy jumping to meet me at the door makes it worth every penny.

So back to this horse that I mentioned earlier. It died. It had an infection from lack of care that was too great. The worst part is that the "owner" had the animal cruelty charges dropped because of lack of evidence. What?!?!?!??! You saw the horse didn't you! How is there a lack of evidence here! Where is the justice for these animals. It's not like they can fight back or leave and go find help. When I'm filthy rich, I'm going to form my own animal justice ninja taks force that will take justice into their own hands when these things happen.

Hey there!! Glad to see you on here!

Don't know if you'll see this response but I felt I had to comment. I have been watching those Animal Rescue shows fairly often recently. They absolutely tug at my heart strings to the point of crying. I want to go in and help save all of those poor animals. And it really makes me want to go adopt a puppy from the Humane Society. Makes me so angry to see people treating animals that way.
